Why the ledger matters
Because CreditsYard runs its own credit ledger rather than Shopify's native store credit, customer balances aren't part of Shopify's own checkout and account system by default. StoreCred issues credit directly through Shopify's storeCreditAccountCredit API, so it shows up in the customer's native Shopify account and redeems automatically at checkout — no separate widget required.
